App Name: Luminate
Effective Date: April 27, 2026

1. Overview

Luminate (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a mental health journaling app for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Luminate stores the following data exclusively on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework:

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the AI conversation feature (see Section 2.2).

2.2 Data Sent to Third-Party AI Services

When you use the AI Conversation feature, the text content of your journal entry or message is sent to OpenAI (openai.com) to generate a response. By using this feature, you consent to that data being processed by OpenAI under their Privacy Policy.

2.3 Purchase and Subscription Data

Luminate uses RevenueCat and Superwall to manage subscriptions (Luminate Pro). These services may collect:

This data is processed by RevenueCat and Superwall under their respective privacy policies. We do not have access to your payment details — all transactions are handled by Apple.

2.4 Photos

If you use the photo journaling feature, photos are taken via your device camera and stored locally in the app’s SwiftData store. Photos are not uploaded to any server.

2.5 Crash and Diagnostic Data

We may receive anonymized crash reports through Apple’s built-in crash reporting, subject to your device’s analytics sharing settings. This does not include journal content.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

4. Children’s Privacy

Luminate is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us at Thepaologabriel@yahoo.com.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

All journal data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by:

  1. Deleting individual entries within the app.
  2. Uninstalling Luminate from your device, which permanently removes all locally stored data.

For subscription-related data held by RevenueCat, please refer to RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

6. Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your data. Since journal data is stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData, it is protected by your device’s built-in encryption and passcode/biometric security. We strongly recommend enabling Face ID or a device passcode.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Since Luminate stores data locally on your device, you have direct control over your data at all times. For any concerns about third-party data (OpenAI, RevenueCat, Superwall), please contact those services directly or reach us at Thepaologabriel@yahoo.com.
